Remittances provide a way for people to sending money to family, friends, and others overseas. Of course, domestic money transfers are options, too. While customers appreciate the ability to perform transfers, they might not like the traditional method of going to a store to process the transaction in person. Thankfully, mobile phone apps could make things much easier for those people.

Creating an account involves using a username and password, as is standard with phone apps. Face recognition software could make signing into the account even more effortless. An app might require proof of identity for security reasons, but uploads aren’t too challenging. If needed, taking a photo of a government-sponsored photo ID and submitting the picture won’t take too much time.

Money Transfer Apps Provide Conveniences

The funds must come from somewhere, and a bank account, credit card, or debit card serves as the usual source. Entering in the necessary payment information on the app takes little time, and so does sending the money to where it has to go. The sender would enter the recipient’s name and address, followed by the amount of money to transfer. After submitting the transfer request, the sender’s job is likely done.

Receiving the Funds

The receiver commonly receives a transaction number used to remit the funds at an in-person location. When asking for the funds, the recipient should expect to bring a government-issued ID. Going to a pickup location may not be the only way to receive the money, as the transfer may deposit the funds directly into a bank account.

Tracking the Funds

When the sender signs into the app, he/she can see the transfer’s status. The transfer may be listed as pending, received, canceled, or, possibly, another action. Some transfers lead to the immediate availability of funds, such as when using a credit card. Depending on the app and its policies, transferring money from a bank account or sending a significant sum of money may take longer.

Apps Work 24/7

Visiting a physical location to send money leaves the sender waiting until regular business hours to perform the necessary actions. Using an app allows the sender to act any day of the year and at any time. The recipient may be able to pick up the funds immediately if a 24/7 money pickup location exists or the funds go directly into a bank account.

Reasonable Fees

Of course, a mobile money transfer app service operates as a commercial business. Expect to pay fees to perform the transaction. The industry remains competitive, so expect the fees to be reasonable. Otherwise, the sender could go with a less-costly competitor.


Worries might exist about the app’s security features. Choosing a reliable app made available through Google Play or the Apple Store might result in finding a trustworthy, well-reviewed app. Keep apps updated, as newer versions may eliminate bugs.

Mobile apps provide a convenient way to send money. The costs associated with the transfers may be reasonable, as well.
